Metreveli Elene

Elene was born in Tbilisi in 1988. Georgia's difficult separation from the Soviet Union has certainly influenced the formation of a fighter’s character. After graduating from school externally, she entered the Surikov’s Moscow State Academic Art Institute. The youngest applicant in 250 years (at that time she was 15), Elene didn't stop the search for her art for a minute and therefore spent a lot of time in circles of painters, sculptors, performers, and designers. The perception of space gained at the university, as well as the lack of a strict duty to study academic painting, gave the artist some courage, that is easily seen in any of her works — whether it be canvas, mural in public spaces, or a print for a clothing brand.
